The Hallmark of a Believer
The Hallmark of a Believer
The hallmark of a believer is not what one can possess from God but rather how much that one is possessed by God. We journey to become like Christ through daily surrender by the power of the Holy Spirit.
It is not the physical manifestation of the power of God that confirms you a believer, but how much of Christ is seen through you.
The bible is clear in Mathew 7:15 (NLT) “…you can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act." The focus has always been, and will forever remain on Christ-like characteristics. It is your character that reveals the work of Christ in you. If a haughty eye and a lying tongue cannot surrender to the transformational power of God, that soul does not have a place in the kingdom. God’s sons and daughters are those who have obtained grace to mirror Christ’s compassion, forgiveness, gentleness, patience and obedience, to name a few.
It is not enough to say that you are a Christian. It is not enough to post scripture on your social media handles. It is not enough to like or share Christian content that trends. It is not enough to speak in tongues or attend Holy Ghost conferences. In fact, it is not even enough to be a vessel that the power and anointing of God moves through.
God is after the hearts of those who call upon His name. His God-like and King-like nature is looking for a place to reign. He is looking for hearts that are surrendered to Him so He can have a place to abide.
Can you surrender your vessel to Him so His Spirit can rule and reign in your life? Can your will be totally submitted to His transformational power so you mirror the reflection of Christ the savior? Are you willing to forgo the patterns and systems of this world and endure the pain of change until Christ is formed in you? May the grace of God abound for us as we journey to become like Christ.
